Dr. Sid Roberts is Medical Director for The Arthur Temple Cancer Center, Memorial Health Systems of East Texas. Dr. Roberts has been the architect, innovator and director of a complete renovation of his cancer center with efficiency and effectiveness being his primary end-goals. Memorial is one of the few real paperless clincal environments in operation today. At the Arthur Temple Cancer Center there is a separate Anatom-e Room where Dr. Roberts has focused all the necessary technology so that he can see all his patient files at one time. The convenience of having everything together makes it possible to drag and overlay files from one system on top of another system. Dr. Roberts decides how he wants to treat his targets. He overlays his PET-CT on top of Anatom-e. He clips his PET-CT contours and pastes them into his treatment planning system and sends the file on to dosimetry and physics to complete the work. This saves tremendous time.
Dr. Roberts has done a thorough job of locating and integrating good technologies that make it easier for a single practitioner to do a high quality job. Dr. Roberts uses ONCOCHART ® and Anatom-e as a complete end-to-end process with which to decide on the best form of treatment, understand the published standards and easily contour the appropriate critical structures and targets. Dr. Roberts then easily documents his treatment plan decisions and pastes the standards into ONCOCHART. ONCOCHART handles the proper charge capture, all patient documentation and at the end of treatment posts a comprehensive summary, easily.
